Yellowstone, June 2003

In early June my Parents *had* to go to Yellowstone for a club meeting that pertains to their RVs. Kirsti, the girls, and I were invited along. It took two days to drive the 740+ miles to the our campground with was north of the park about forty miles. The return trip took the same amount of time.

Our first night, Moiras in her PJs. Because the camera is present, she is winking.

Delaney, checking out the scenery (her parents).

The sign in the background of this picture says 'Camp Free'. We made it just into Montana on the first night, and stayed behind a local Casino/Restaurant/Gas Station/Hotel. The locals were riding their ATVs right up to the pumps.

On the road again, Moira next to the window, Delaney on the aisle. They both slept quite a bit in the motorhome, it being a *larger* vehicle. Moira also enjoyed watching the scenery slip by.

Still traveling, Moira playing with her pillow, entertaining mom and dad.

We continued east on I-90, and stopped at a few rest stops along the way.

We met a group of bikers who were also from Washington, and they let Moira have a seat.

Papa Woods holding Delaney at the same rest stop.

On the road again, with Moira and Delaney sleeping. They did very good on this trip, not creating much stress for Mom or Dad.

We finally arrived. Just behind the park is the Yellowstone river, with a mountain range in the background. Very pretty.

Moira and Delaney both on the bed, doing their own thing.

Delaney looking cute for the camera.

Mommy and Moira on the couch. We did a lot of hanging out while at the park, very relaxing.

The first full day there, we drove into Yellowstone Park with Oma Woods. This was our first stop inside the park, just because.

Looking down a canyon, with Oma, Moira, and Kirsti.

Dads in the shot now. It was *very* windy.

There's a buffaloe in this picture. After having them pointed out to her, Moira picked up a few on her own while we continued down the road.

Kirsti and Moira with the buffaloe in the background.

I *think* this is Sheep Herders Rocks.

There' a critter in the background of this picture, can you find it?

Moira and the Marmot looking at each other. The Marmot is probably wondering where the food is.

A little stream next to the rocks, Kirsti and Moira posing.

We finally made it to some geysers.

Kirsti and Moira, geysers in the background.

I forget the name, but this was a pretty impressive (and smelly) site. Very deep blue and green colors.

Moira and Kirsti at the same spot. After this, we ran back to the truck. Our stomachs were growling.

We had lunch near the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, and then went to the site itself. Oma Woods and Moira.

Now dads turn.

Across the canyon is another lookout, which we didn't make it to. It was starting to get later, and we had a ways to go before getting back to the campground.

We walked Moira back to the car, and Kirsti came down to see the canyon. Delaney was asleep at this time, so we decided it was best to let her be.

Paul in the same spot.

There is so much wildlife in Yellowstone, this picture was taken from the car.

Buffaloe, taking a rest. This is near the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone still.

We travelled around the North Western loop in the park, they had just opened this pass the week before. We were close to the 8,000ft level here.

Kirsti took this picture I think, from the car. Her way of saying 'are we almost there yet?'

Delaney taking another snooze.

Moira slept above the cab of the motorhome, in a pull out bed. We were afraid she'd either not like it at all, or enjoy it quite a bit. Luckily, it was the latter.

Looking from the campground across the Yellowstone River, towards the nearby mountain range. There was snow on the mountains when we showed up, but gone by the time we left.

On our third day we decided to go into the town of Livingston, which had a nice city park that Moira could enjoy.

Delaney, again sleeping. It isn't that she slept all the time, but that only when she slept could we really take pictures.

Uh oh, Omas stuck on the teeter-totter. No, serious, she was really stuck. We couldn't do much about it though until Kirsti stopped laughing.

Kirsti and Moira on their side.

Oma Woods on hers. Still stuck in the air.

The next day we started for home. This is at a KOA campground in eastern Idaho. Moira is here feeding the ducks some corn.

More ducks, more corn.

A picture of Delaney, while awake.

Our winking Moira.

Papa helping Moira feed the ducks more corn.

Moira playing on the put-put course (not golf).

This was the first campfire of the trip, on our last night. The other campgrounds did not allow them.

Moira is all ready, with her own little chair.

Papa and Moira roasted some marshmallows.

And then it was Mommies turn.
