Ed, Rob, and I rode out of Greenwater past Government Meadows. We stayed mostly on the Naches Jeep trail all the way down into the valley, and then rode the blacktop a bit to the Kaner Flats area, before turning up towards the Manastash Ridge. The weather wasn't that consistent, though we didn't get rained on except for a few small drops on the return trip.

Shortly after leaving the parking area, with Ed and Rob looking down the valley.

We climbed up onto a small ridge, that would give us quicker access to the Naches Jeep Trail. We started to figure out here that it might be WET.

Looking west into the cloud and trees.

Looking north.

We rode the jeep trail up, crossed road 70, and then continued to Government Meadows, which is where we parked here.

This is a log cabin on the edge of the meadow. The sign says it was built in 1990, but I remember a much (much much) older one being in its place in the 80's.

Looking from the front porch toward the edge of the meadow.

Other side.

Down the length of the meadow. This would be a nice front yard.

Back a bit farther, looking again at the cabin. There's an outhouse up in the trees to the right, out of view.

A wood stove, with Rob looking around.

Ed reading a log book of sorts, messages people posted. Someone wrote their entire message regarding a wedding they might not make. Random.

Back on the bikes, headed down the trail again. This is coming around the far side of the meadow.

Another shot.

Shortly after the prior picture, we came to a small road we normally just cross. This time we decided to see where it went. This is one of hte lookouts - I'm standing here on the edge of a bank that has a near verticle drop.

Back a bit farther....

Back on the Naches Trail we didn't make it much farther before we decided to eat lunch. It was almost embarassing.

Water was word of the day. Water. Here's ed, with his feet up (the only time all day).

Rob to.

Another side logging road led to this view.

My goggles were still on, and I wasn't sure if the 1st picture turned out or not.

Riding farther along, Ed was in front. It was apparent that Ed was having fun getting wet. After almost going for a swim in this hole, I asked him if he'd like to do it again so I could take a picture. He smiled, and took off.

Ed was having so much fun in fact that about 200 yards later he stopped to watch a jeep do its thing, and one of them asked him what it was like to ride on a flat front tire.

Here we are (actually, just Ed), working on the flat tire.

Rob was washing his hands. Ed's still working on the tire.

We finally all pitched in, and one of the Jeep guys happened to have an air compressor that after much deliberation we all agreed was handier than a hand pump. Continuing down 941, we came across another nice view of the river.

Same spot, different angle.

Ed riding down the trail.

Ed headed towards a little hill.

Same Ed, different direction.

At this spot I pointed up the trail, and told Rob about a very rocky hill Ed and I didn't feel like climbing, but we sent him off.

After that, we finally headed back. This is at the top of Naches Pass looking towards the east, with Rob the small light in the picture. It was foggy.
