Today we had planned to have a day trip at Lake Kachess campground, let the girls play,
and pick out a few camping spots for some future trips. Of course, the one item I had forgotten to check before
leaving was that the park was actually open - and it of course wasn't. We did get to walk down by the beach
though and toss some rocks in the water, and both girls had a blast doing that. We finally left there and drove
about five miles down the highway to Lake Easton, to buy some milk for the girls (I was really prepared for this
trip).
Not wanting to return home so soon, we returned to the same exit we had used at Lake Kachess, but headed west towards
Stampede Pass. I had thought at one point I could find a railroad tunnel to show Moira and Delaney, but we apparently
drove by all of those. We did see a very big bridge though, and one deer standing in the middle of the road. The
highlight of the trip by far though for everyone (Ed included I think) was playing in the snow. We finally
returned to blacktop in Greenwater just intime to catch a phone call from Mommy on her way home from work.

Parked at the side of the road, Moira and Ed are walking to the beach. Delaney's in the bottom corner, wondering what Dad's doing.

Now we're on our way to the beach.

Ed and Moira going down to the water.

A view of Lake Kachess looking south towards Easton.

Another view, same direction.

Ed, Moira, and Delaney sitting on the log long enough for a picture.

Okay, they were there long enough for two pictures.

Moira standing on a good sized rock that was itself in the water.

Delaney's looking at the same rock, thinking ....

Delaney's making her own attempt.

Another view.

After Lake Kachess, this is a ways into the Wenatchee National Forest south of I-90. The train trestle here leads to the 'town' of Lester.

At the top of Green(?) pass, coming from Easton to Greenwater. The road I'm standing on here leads to the Naches side.

Another view, towards Greenwater. There was no snow here, but we did find some at the next hill we had to cross.

The first snow we found, on the the side of the road.

Both girls enjoyed the little patch of snow.

Delany's digging, and Moira is trying not to slip.

We pretty well smashed this once untouched patch of snow.

Delaney wondering why Dad is still clicking.

Uncle Ed had a blast to.

Moira and Ed having a snow fight. Delaney played a neutral party in this one.

Where's Uncle Ed?

We finally arrived at the blacktop on Road 70, and the girls wanted their coats taken off.

One of the required Shrek CDs was still playing, and they were dancing.
