We have for a while wanted to take the kids back east, to tour the sites, and let them see the history that is there. In looking at what we would like to see, we have sometimes thought it would be too much for one trip. This year we had the opportunity though to travel back east with some family, and in the process knocked Boston and New York City off of our lists.

We started in Boston, staying in a townhouse that used to be an old carriage house, and then housed a furniture company. It was just off of the Freedom Trail in old downtown, near to a couple of the cities oldest bars. After Boston we took the train to New York, arriving at Penn Station. In New York we saw Central Park, Time Square, the Statue of Liberty, and a few other sites. There were lines everywhere in New York, and it limited what we were able to see in a day, though we did have a good time.

St. Pauls Chapel - this church is next to the World Trade Center, and survived 9/11.

Inside the transportation center. This place looked like the inside of a 1960s Bond villains lair.
