For Spring Break this year we took three days travelling south through Oregon and the Easten Sierras in California to Indio. Just south of Carson City we hit snow, and it stayed with us for an hour or so. Leaving Kramer Junction / Boron after lunch on our last travel day, we veared east slightly and hit Route 66 for a short while. We eventually made it to Indio, and had a fun week in the pools, and exploring the local areas a bit. The highlight outside of the pools had to have been the small air museum in Palm Springs, with tours of a B-17 available. Moira, Delaney, and Dad got to climb up just behind the cockpit, walk through the bomb bay, and exit near the rear. Very cool. The Thomases showed up the following week, and we had to head home again (this time by air) so the kids could get back to school.
