This was our 1st trip to Ike Kinswa State Park, on Mayfield Lake. It was a bit damp at times, and the park is in lots of trees, so it could be a bit dark. The lake was beautful though, and we got out in the canoe a few times. We explored the north end of the lake on two separate days with the canoe, and had a great time.

More than once we hid out underneath some over hanging tree branches to escape a sudden rain shower.

It had really started to rain just as we pulled in here. We decided to hide under some branches for a bit, much better than on the water in a canoe.

A rope swing into the water, very near the rope ladder. This would be an awesome swimming hole in warmer weather.

We continued up the lake to the creek that fed the north-east end. We were able to paddle just into that before beaching the canoes.

The 1st quarter mile from the creek to lake can be very shallow. I think Karen & Craig are on the wrong side ...
