We had reservations with friends to go to an old favorite, Salmon La Sac campground. We hadn't visited in about 11 years, and it was well past time to go back. There was unfortunately a flood a few years back, and quite a bit of the campground was permanently destroyed. The campsite that we had stayed in on the previous trip was long gone.

We did enjoy a hike to Cooper Lake from the campground though, even if it ended up being a little bit longer than we imagined. We had planned on trying Pete Lake the last day, but were a little worn out to make that effort. We did instead see a wonderful waterfall that Dennis has kayaked from in prior years, and we had a fun time exploring that and the surrounding area.

Juneau didn't want anything to do with the water. She tried to chase another family down the trail instead, before Kirsti barely caught her.

Looking west(?) towards Cooper Lake from the bridge. The end of the trail for us.

Resting on the side of the trail, on the way back. Closer to 8 or 9 miles round trip, and we had torn through the water.

The following afternoon we drove up to where Dennis had put in on his kayak trip, just below an incredible water fall. Wait for it though - the camera battery is about to die here.

Every group has a resident knuckle head. Can you pick out ours?

This fall is almost a staircase. The water flow here is pretty low, otherwise we couldn't get near it. Dennis here is encouraging the kids to jump from the rocks.
