We had reservations with friends to go to an old favorite, Salmon La Sac campground. We hadn't visited in about 11 years, and it was well past time to go back. There was unfortunately a flood a few years back, and quite a bit of the campground was permanently destroyed. The campsite that we had stayed in on the previous trip was long gone.

We did enjoy a hike to Cooper Lake from the campground though, even if it ended up being a little bit longer than we imagined. We had planned on trying Pete Lake the last day, but were a little worn out to make that effort. We did instead see a wonderful waterfall that Dennis has kayaked from in prior years, and we had a fun time exploring that and the surrounding area.

We wanted to take a small hike, so decided to walk from Salmon La Sac to Cooper Lake. A *short* (aren't they always?) 3 mile walk.

Dennis has kayaked this river, and was explaining the preferred lines to the girls. Wow.
