We had a trip planned to Sunriver in Oregon for the summer of 2020, and then Covid happened. Having no guarantee that we would get our money back if we were forced by travel rules to cancel our trip at the last minute, we cancelled our reservation. Later in the summer it became apparent we could make the trip happen though, and we lucked out with another house that worked perfectly with the girls and Sitka.

We saw some local sites, did some bike riding, river rafting, and the girls also tubed the Deschutes River one afternoon. The kids drove their own car down, and that gave them a little more freedom as well, probably helping this to be a great low stress trip.
