We had a quick turn around from our prior trip (poor planning for the win!), and went to Fort Ebey State Park on Whidbey Island with friends. There was a small bonus here, as smoke from fires in BC had effected our air, and there was some relief from the smoke on Whidbey Island. We had a few relaxing days at the campground, enjoyed some walks, watched the kids perform an impromtu play, and had a great time.

The girls and I had just gotten to the park, and walking to the bluff we saw our first deer of the weekend.

It was clearer here than at home, but there was still quite a bit of smoke drifting down from Canada. This is as bright as the sun got.

Friday morning Moira and I went for a walk on one of the trails, this one a short loop that takes us past the old water tower.
