On the kids' last day of school this year, we packed up, and with some friends headed to Salt Creek Recreation Area, just west of Port Angeles. There we saw some excellent tide pools, enjoyed the scenery, and saw quite a bit of wildlife. We at one point thought that Juneau was gone over a bluff and onto the rocks below, she had tangled with and then chased a Racoon through the fencing. We also saw two humbpack whales, and of course, as we are getting the camera out as fast as we could, another campers dog and ours decided they didn't like each other very much.

We saw more than a few racoons, and they were bold, and aggressive. Juneau tangled with one I believe on the 1st night. She caught the racoon after getting away from Moira, they tangled very briefly, and then the racoon bolted and Juneau followed through the fence and towards the bluff. We had honestly thought that she had to have fallen over the edge, but she made her way back.

We were a little concerned with Sitka, her 1st time camping. She did great.
